ASUS Eee PC 1201n upgrade to 4GB , test in BIOS and Windows 7

Upgrade a Asus 1201n . Ahi podemos ver un cambio de memoria ram DDR2 de 2gb a 4gb , sumamente facil remplazar la memoria ram para hacer este upgrade. De manera muy extraña Windows 7 32bit en esta netbook reconoce mas de 3gb ya que reconose 3.25gb mas 256mb en su Chip Grafico Nvidia ION, un upgrade a Windows 7 64bit permitira ala 1201n reconoser hasta 8GB de memoria ram

    i think win 7 32bit support 3,25gb ram in this vid, it’s not full 4gb.You should install win 64bit !

    @dami95847 : Compra dos de 2GB PC2 6400 y tambien necesitas tener Windows 64 bit para utilizar los 4GB en total.

    @LegendaryElitz

    Dude, you can use all 4 Gigs ram if you install 64 bit OS on your netbook.

    @LegendaryElitz you’re using 32bit windows not 64bit. only 64bits can suppoet over 3.25 gigs up to a maximum of 128gb.

    I have one 1201n, the most retarded thing is the processor. The Aton 1.6 Dual Core is 64 Bits capable but the memory addressing inside the processor is 32 Bit. Thats why the EeePC 1201n can´t use the full 4 Gb.

    Very nice music. Could you please post who made this piece and played by which musician?? Thank you.

  12. Mineav says:

    Now you just need the 64-bit version of W7.

  13. loodjuret says:

    64 bits would be better if you’re using 4 GB. Not much but anyway.

    Hola, muchas gracias por el video. Tengo una pregunta: ¿qué tipo de memorias RAM lleva? ¿DDR2 800 Mhz? Tengo el mismo modelo de netbook y estoy interesado en aumentarle la memoria. ¡Saludos!

  20. khoiwin says:

    @LegendaryElitz

    you are an idiot, you need x64 os to use more than 3.24GB of ram

    @topsy420 It’s called dual channel. 2x1gb is faster than 1x2gb.

    @diomaiaal
    Yep. 32-bit machines can only access 2^32 = 4,294,967,296 worth of address space. Since this PC has 256MB worth of VRAM, the system has to allocate 256MB worth of address space just for that, and then try and allocate system RAM to the remaining available address space. So, under a 32-bit OS, 256MB of his 4GB RAM sits there looking stupid and useless.
    What he should have done is slot 2x4GB SODIMMs and then install Win7 x64. Because this machine is upgradable to 8GB of RAM.
    RTFM.

    @PinkFluffies
    RAM isn’t flash memory: It doesn’t hold data once it’s lost it’s power connection.
    So, no: He didn’t loose anything. Just the now-useless 1GB SODIM sticks.
